Nina graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2011 with a degree in English and a degree in Anthropology. While attending NIU, she participated in several societies, including the Society for Technical Communication (STC-NIU), the First-Year Composition Committee (FYCC) and the Student Advisory Council on Learning Outcomes (SACLO). In June of 2010, she participated in the Archaeological Field School in Sicily where she learned how to measure pits, dig layers, and record artifacts.
